Building or planning your family and your family’s future takes some work and commitment. We have to stop allowing ourselves to believe that we are animals and therefore have no responsibility not to act like animals. We are sexual beings, and sex is a beautiful thing when it is done according to God’s wisdom.
The beauty of waiting until marriage to have sex is that it builds a healthier person all around. Unlike other approaches to sexual education that focus on “safe-sex” and abortion as a solution, abstinence-centered education promotes self-worth, self-control and self-respect. As well, abstinence is primary in the prevention of depression, pregnancy, and the contraction of STDs. Encouraging a healthy traditional family unit helps people avoid poverty and gives them the time to develop vital life skills.
When we, as conservatives, talk about abstinence, we are interested in empowering people, young and old, to be the best that they can be. First, we want to teach them to think critically, set goals and weigh risks. Abstinence education is a comprehensive look at risk-behavior analysis. By choosing abstinence, children are avoiding the risk of teen pregnancy altogether, isn’t that what we want? Since partaking in childhood sex too often leads to the formation of single-parent homes, promotion of abstinence is actually more than just teaching them that they have a worth as a young man or woman. It also teaches them how to identify a healthy and an unhealthy relationship, as well as how to avoid the traps that we can all fall into. Our goal is to delay sex among teens and hopefully have them wait until marriage and we know through common sense, past history and even recent CDC data that abstinence-centered education is working.
We know that positive re-enforcement and education is an effective way to present a message. When we highlight the true consequences of our actions (or non-action), many children choose to wait. Shouldn’t that be our goal- to have them wait until they are “ready”- instead of encouraging them to experiment with sex by teaching them how to do it? Yet we allow our schools scoff at the idea of abstinence while they strive to educate children that they shouldn’t be ashamed to try all kinds of sex- both heterosexual and homosexual.
For too long, we have allowed those with “funding” to dictate the conversation and the narrative of the conversation. There is a reason why Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, The Alan Guttmacher Institute and liberal politicians (all Pro-abortion groups) oppose Abstinence-Centered Education as if they were vampires faced with a cross. It has much to do with the fact that they promote the over-sexualization of children through a sex education curriculum drawn up by the same Planned Parenthood organization that makes money off the abortion of failed “safe-sex” adventures. In fact, the Federal government actually gives Planned Parenthood about $1,000,000 a day. Planned Parenthood then gets paid to educate children on how to have sex without anyone pointing out the conflict of interest. Planned Parenthood doesn’t get to abort the babies who aren’t created by children choosing abstinence. Instead, they get to kill the babies that are created by children who failed to prevent the creation of a baby while they were having the so-called “safe sex” that the Planned Parenthood taught them to have.
So now that I’ve pointed out the conflict of interest, I’ll ask: how can the pro-choicers advocate the death of children and then turn around and say that they are pro-child, woman, man or family. None of these organizations are Pro-family or Pro-Children. Every time I turn around, I hear them saying things like children are a curse or that the world is over populated then turn around and promote promiscuity. Quite, frankly the promotion of promiscuity and its consequences is a direct assault on woman. The consequences that they try to leave out of the story they promote includes depression, abortion, STDs, cancer from those STDs and even breast cancer, which often results due to the unnatural abortion-caused halt in the lactation process.
Think about this for one second. Planned Parenthood alone gets nearly $400 Million in government funding each year, plus all of its private contributions. Planned Parenthood is a 501(c)3, a 501 (c)4, a Super Pac and a 527. Do you think for one second that they’re not going to do everything they can to protect that funding in every way possible? Where are the people crying foul and greed? Consider the event of a sudden drop in the teen-pregnancy rate, due to abstinence education being tried successfully. The need for abortions would decline. And if people aren’t trying to have abortions, what reason would we have for funding the abortion mills? They’ve already considered that possibility, and they fight its becoming reality by controlling the message. The church isn’t allowed to talk to children about sex in schools, but the abortionists are. We have to stop being so gullible and start standing up for what is right. It’s as if the government is forcing us invite wolves to teach our sheep about safe grazing.
Why do we entrust abortionists to educate students about sex when there’s a conflict of interest? Planned Parenthood does have an interest in seeing children have sex, but they do not have an interest in preventing the spread of STDs or in preventing unplanned pregnancy. Why would you take a condom from a group that makes money when that condom doesn’t work? I’d be surprised if a lot of those condoms didn’t have holes in them- that’s not an accusation. It’s just my value judgment on a group that makes its money by sacrificing the unborn to the pagan gods of liberalism.
We as adults, scientists, Christians and human beings know what works, and we should be working to conserve what works. We should build upon those ideas in hopes of making a positive difference in the lives of our youth so that they’re allowed to have a dream that leaves them room to hope for a better future. Instead, we are teaching them to take risks and encouraging them to do so with the help from the same group that makes money off them if they get hurt by those risks.
Let us work to curtail the culture of death that we have allowed to infect our cities and schools for the last 40 years. Let us break the cycle of dependency and take back our children’s education. We can start by getting abstinence-centered education in our schools and by getting Planned Parenthood and these other sex-peddling organizations out.
The Frederick Douglass Foundation of New York, in conjunction with many area organizations and churches, has a plan. We are working to rebuild the American Dream for the future generations, and, with the help of every parent, we will push back the forces of filth and debauchery that have such strong presence in our children’s lives today. We are losing our children and ourselves. It is time to say NO MORE!

Ask any teenage girl if she wants to have sex with a man, or a boy. 20 to 1 they will say a man. Then ask them to define the word man. 20 to 1 will not be able to define “man.” Then supply this definition: a man is someone who can support a family spiritually, financially, physically and emotionally. Then suggest they should at least have enough respect for themselves to wait for a man. The most popular myth about sex is women can change men by loving them. Men change to get a woman. Once that happens they no longer have to try. If a girl wants a boy to become a man, she better not have sex with him.
This makes so much more sense than the lefts immature, “but everyone is doing it”, which reminds me of kids trying to talk their parents into letting them do something, when they know their parents ares right.

Had I ACTUALLY had, a mentor, or someone to give me the proper tools necessary to combat, and defeat the idea, from it’s initial inception, (thanks Madonna, and Whitney Houston! LOL!), and cut it off at the knees, instead of EMBRACING it, then I would NOT have pursued that avenue of self indulgence, for SO long. And, thereby SAVED me from the very grief that I have to live with today. Good article.

the cornerstone for any nation is the family, and it must be destroyed before the nation will fall… premarital sex in the Old Testament of our bibles was judge as if one had committed murder. If both the man and the woman willingly had premarital sex, they were both put to death to protect the nation. It is a good thing that is not true today! Yet the same affects upon a nation today of premarital sex exist, which your above article pointed out. There are many fathers that run from the mother of their child that have blood on their hands…
