Moore TEA Citizens members and guests gathered for another monthly supper/meeting on Monday, August 13th. Along with elected officials, several candidates came and were introduced and invited to speak to the 120 people who attended. The program featured Dr. Timothy Johnson and Kevin Daniels, who are founder and leader, respectively, of the Frederick Douglass Foundation. They addressed the audience about the organization and ways to encourage and embrace blacks and others who might be reluctant to join TEA Parties and/or Grassroots groups. Along with providing specifics, Tim and Kevin engaged attendees in a question and answer period. They electrified the audience, which included black guests. One of those attendees told everyone that she had learned much that she had never known, and was most surprised and positively affected to learn facts about the Republican Party and the Democrat Party in America. As they left when the program was complete many remarked that it was the best program they have attended since coming to Moore TEA Citizens meetings. It was a memorable evening for all.
