Over the past four years, the Chicago public schools have churned through total revenues of approximately $20.27 billion and about $4.26 billion of that revenue—or almost 21 percent of it—has come from the federal government.
That is $4.26 billion the federal government has either taken from Americans in federal taxes or has borrowed and added to the national debt.
In fiscal 2009, according to the White House Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Department of Education spent $53.389 billion. In 2010, that climbed to $92.858 billion, then in 2011, it dropped to $65.484 billion. This year, according to OMB, Department of Education spending will hit an historical high of $98.467 billion.

Salary figures provided by the Chicago Public Schools show teachers here have the highest average salary of any city in the nation. A Chicago Public Schools spokesperson said average pay for teachers, without benefits, is $76,000.
By comparison, teachers in New York City earn an average of $73,751. That would be less than the average $76,000 average salary for Chicago teachers cited by CPS, but more than the $71,000 average cited by the union. Depending on which is accurate, Chicago would either be first or second in the nation in average teacher salary. However, Los Angeles teachers make $67,600. The number drops to about $54,000 in Dallas, and just over $52,000 in Miami.
Regardless of where Chicago teachers currently rank in salary, Civic Federation president Laurenence Msall said there’s one big roadblock to a big raise for teachers.
“It’s math. It’s not really politics, as much as it gets caught up in politics. The financial situation of the Chicago Public Schools is dire. The situation of the State of Illinois – that provides significant funding to the Chicago Public Schools – is dire,” he said. “The property tax payers in Chicago are beleaguered. They’re seeing a drop in their property values, and to be asking them to pay increased property taxes, so we can fund increased salaries for employees is something that’s gonna be a very tough political sell.”
Msall said there’ simply not enough money to support a significant pay hike for the teachers.
“The only way that they will find money to increase some teachers’ salary, is we’re going to have to reduce the number of teachers, and the number of employees in Chicago Public Schools,” Msall said. “There just is no other way to get around it.”
The only other possibility would be imposing a property tax hike.

In humble opinion, the reason THAT DUDE, Congressman Allen West is a thousand times stronger representative than ANY of the other “Congressional Black Caucus” members, is because he actually has to go out there and fight for the opportunity to represent his district. He doesn’t have a guaranteed seat. His constituents haven’t crowned him as royalty…like the constituents in virtually all of the districts represented by the other “CBC” members.

In other words, Clinton won’t mention a whole bunch of inconvenient facts — about what brought the prosperity of the 1990s, and how he himself helped put America on the path to the 2008 financial crisis.
He’ll tell us that a vote for President Obama will bring back the glory days of the 1990s — but those days weren’t so great until Republicans won control of Congress in the 1994 elections. That’s when Clinton turned right, and joined the GOP to put a hold on spending and lower taxes — allowing the technology boom to sustain the US economy through the Clinton years.

Finally tested, even trailing, at the U.S. Open, Serena Williams turned things around just in time. Two points from defeat, Williams suddenly regained her composure and her strokes, coming back to beat top-ranked Victoria Azarenka on Sunday night for her fourth championship at Flushing Meadows and 15th Grand Slam title overall. ’I honestly can’t believe I won. I really was preparing my runner-up speech, because I thought, “Man, she’s playing so great,” Williams said during the trophy presentation after the 2-hour, 18-minute match, adding: ‘I’m really shocked.’ Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2200845/Serena-Williams-wins-U-S-Open-racking-15th-Grand-Slam-title.html#ixzz262QsdlLo

With its huge reflecting pools, ringed by waterfalls and skyscrapers, and a cavernous underground museum still under construction, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center is an awesome spectacle that moved and inspired some 4.5million visitors in its first year.
But all that magnificence comes with a jaw-dropping price tag. The foundation that runs the memorial estimates that once the $700million project is complete, the memorial and museum will together cost $60million a year to operate.
The anticipated cost has bothered some critics and raised concerns even among the memorial’s allies that the budget may be unsustainable without a hefty government subsidy.

Ladies and gentlemen, my friend, THAT DUDE, Mr. Mason Weaver telling it like it was, is, and how it should be. Feel welcome to respectfully, thoughtfully share your thoughts. He “was done with America”… “and the white man owed him”…
“Politics takes a lot of brass. And Bill Clinton is a master politician. His rousing speech at the Democrats’ convention told the delegates that Republicans “want to go back to the same old policies that got us into trouble in the first place.”
That is world class brass. Bill Clinton’s own administration, more than any other, promoted an unsustainable housing boom, which eventually and inevitably led to a housing bust that brought down the whole American economy.
Behind all the complex financial processes that reached to Wall Street and beyond, there is one fundamental fact: many people stopped making their mortgage payments.
Why did that happen? Because mortgage loans were made to people who did not meet the long-established qualification standards for getting a mortgage loan. And why did that happen? Because the Clinton administration threatened lawsuits against lenders who did not approve mortgage loans to minority applicants as often as to white applicants.
In other words, racial quotas replaced credit qualifications. A failure to have racial statistics on mortgage approvals that fit the government’s preconceptions was equated with discrimination.” ~ THAT DUDE, Thomas Sowell

If Muslims are supposed to believe that there is “only one God”, and that “their God”, who they call “Allah”, is the same “God” of the Bible, who is the “God” of Abraham, father of Ismael…whom all the Arab people descend from…wouldn’t ”
Booing God” be Blasphemy? And in the world of Islam, isn’t Blasphemy of “God”, whom they call “Allah”, an automatic death sentence?
It stands to reason that since no devout Muslim would ever “Boo God” in a public square (for obvious reasons)…then that must mean she is NOT actually “Booing HER God…Allah”, but she is in fact “Booing the God of the Bible” that people of Judeo-Christian Faith believe in. Which means…she doesn’t believe that “her God” and “our God” are one in the same.

The news, when it emerged this summer, had an air of inevitability: for the first time, women were scoring higher in IQ tests than men.
Girls have long been doing better than boys in GCSEs, and today they make up the majority of university
students. When they graduate, they’re more likely than men to find work, and an increasing number are the family breadwinners.
The word ‘purse-whipped’ — referring to men being in financial thrall to women — is slowly entering the English language, and with it the understanding that this is not a question of equality. Britain, like many other places, is witnessing a reversal of power between the genders.
It is odd that this phenomenon should be the subject of jokes when its implications are so far-reaching. But five years ago, there was one senior politician whom no one could accuse of not taking women seriously.

For the last 40 years, Americans have lagged in recognizing the declining fortunes of their foreign rivals. In the 1970s they thought the Soviet Union was 10 feet tall — ascendant even though corruption and inefficiency were destroying the
vital organs of a decaying communist regime. In the late 1980s, they feared that Japan was going to economically overtake the United States, yet the crony capitalism, speculative madness, and political corruption evident throughout the 1980s led to the collapse of the Japanese economy in 1991.
Could the same malady have struck Americans when it comes to China? The latest news from Beijing is indicative of Chinese weakness: a persistent slowdown of economic growth, a glut of unsold goods, rising bad bank loans, a bursting real estate bubble, and a vicious power struggle at the top, coupled with unending political scandals. Many factors that have powered China’s rise, such as the demographic dividend, disregard for the environment, supercheap labor, and virtually unlimited access to external markets, are either receding or disappearing.
Yet China’s declining fortunes have not registered with U.S. elites, let alone the American public. President Barack Obama’s much-hyped “pivot to Asia,” announced last November, is premised on the continuing rise of China; the Pentagon has said that by 2020 roughly 60 percent of the Navy’s fleet will be stationed in the Asia-Pacific region. Washington is also considering deploying sea-borne anti-missile systems in East Asia, a move reflecting U.S. worries about China’s growing missile capabilities.

Protesters angry over anti-Islam film storm US Embassy in Yemen..
Protesters angered by a film they consider blasphemous to Islam have stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in the most recent attack on U.S. diplomatic posts in the Middle East.
Protesters smashed windows as they breached the embassy perimeter and reached the compound grounds, although they did not enter the main building housing the offices. Angry young men brought down the U.S. flag in the courtyard, burned it and replaced it with a black banner bearing Islam’s declaration of faith — “There is no God but Allah.”
Yemeni security forces who rushed to the scene fired in the air and used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, driving them out of the compound after about 45 minutes and sealing off the surrounding streets. It was not immediately clear whether anyone was inside the embassy at the time of the attack.
Demonstrators removed the embassy’s sign on the outer wall, set tires ablaze and pelted the compound with rocks

Hurting Muslims’ Feelings ‘Cannot Be Tolerated,’ Egypt’s Ruling Party Says

(CNSNews.com) – As U.S. diplomatic missions tightened security in the aftermath following Tuesday’s deadly attack in Libya and continuing protests in Egypt – and new eruptions in Yemen — Islamic governments and organizations, including terrorist groups, condemned an obscure film about Mohammed blamed by some for the incidents.
Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood in a statement demanded legal action against those behind the film.
“[H]urting the feelings of one and a half billion Muslims cannot be tolerated, and the people’s anger and fury for their faith is invariably predictable, often unstoppable,” it said, calling for “assaults on the sanctities of all heavenly religions” to be criminalized…..
