The liberals hate and despise Mitt Romney for having been so successful at Bain Capital without the help of the government, but it turns out, these same liberals don’t have the snootish ability to resist making money off his coat tails. As Deroy Murdock reports, the liberals at the “Ohio Teachers Retirement Fund, Columbia and Harvard Universities, and the Oprah Winfrey and Ford Foundations” all have money invested with Bain. Oprah Winfrey used to go to Obama’s church with Reverend Wright, and she even traded her credibility and her career to help Obama get elected. Yet she invests with Romney’s former company. If I were a liberal, I would say “hypocrites.” But liberals can’t be hypocrites without first having standards to live up to.
Mona Charen makes some interesting points about Hillary Clinton’s supposedly “great” reign as secretary of state and follows it up with a metaphorical shot gun blast to the face:
This is the person who described Bashar Assad as a “reformer,” who chewed out Netanyahu for 40 minutes for building apartments in his own capital (a capital her department is at pains to deny), who “reset” relations with Russia only to watch impotently as Russia blocks all attempts to halt the massacres in Syria, and who has, with her boss, been criminally negligent about preventing a world catastrophe in the form of an Iranian bomb.
USA Today reports that the State Department ignored repeated threats to our diplomats in Libya and denied requests for increased security even after a recent attempt on the life of the British ambassador.
Will this quell talk of Clinton’s greatness?
Senator Chuck Grassley compares Obama’s actions towards Lockheed Martin to his cover up of Fast and Furious. Granted, no one’s dead yet, but Grassley has some interesting points. Some background: If Congress fails to curb sequestration by the end of the year with a presidential signature on an agreement, they will cut half a trillion dollars from the defense budget over the next several years. As a result, defense contractors may need to announce many layoffs. Under the WARN Act, defense contractors are required to notify their workers 60 days ahead of any layoffs, giving them time to make sure they have some money to live. This would mean that hundreds of thousands of defense workers would be getting notices right before the election. The Obama administration is violating the law and forcing these defense companies not to notify their workers of these layoffs right before the election- because it would look bad for the president of course. In order to justify this, he has unilaterally decided that the government will use taxpayer dollars to cover the legal costs that this violation would cause when these companies end up laying off workers without the 60 days notice. Senator Grassley makes some great points about this violation of the law.
Charles C. W. Cooke covers Senator Linsey Graham, who claims that “Obama is guilty of a ‘Mini-Coup,” in regards to his violation of the WARN Act. Here are some key parts with my own emphasis:
The maneuver is “incredibly disturbing,” he told me. How disturbing? “It is exhibit A in the march toward an imperial presidency.” The “statute is clear,” Graham continued, “the WARN Act is the law of the land.” Here, “we have a White House saying, ‘we don’t care what the law we signed says.’” The OMB analysis — which holds that as the law might change, there is no need for businesses to comply with it — is “absurd on its face,” the senator told me, and the Department of Labor’s advisory opinion “a political move.” It is “patently illegal for the federal government to absorb the financial cost of a private company for not following the law. Never have we put the taxpayer on the hook for a private company failing to follow the law.”
Graham wondered aloud, “why are Democrats are not upset about the precedent? This has implications beyond this election cycle.” What implications?, I queried. “Imagine if a Republican president said that, because his proposed tax cuts were likely to become law, there was no need for the existing rates to be paid.” What we have here, I suggested, is the government instructing people to violate the law, and offering to mitigate the consequences. “Yes,” Graham agreed. “It’s crazy legal analysis. We are in danger of being no longer a rule of law nation. It’s a mini-coup.” I asked how this compared to June’s unilateral imposition of the DREAM Act? “This takes the DREAM Act instinct to a new level,” the senator told me. “That was a bastardization of the law — interpreting the law outside of its intent — but this is more dangerous as it ignores what the statute actually says.”
So, what can be done? “Lockheed Martin will give into the administration and ignore the law at their peril,” Graham warned. I asked what happens if the president attempts to reimburse them? “If he tries to go through Congress, well, that’ll never happen.” And if he tries to reallocate funds? “We would shut that down. The Constitution has a balance of powers for a reason. Congressional law cannot be unilaterally discarded by the executive branch.” Indeed, congressional Republicans will perhaps have an easier time controlling the purse strings than they have in reversing the White House’s course. In August, the Democratic senate voted down an effort led by Graham to force defense contractors to comply with the law, when the senate’s Appropriations Committee rejected by 17-13 an amendment that would have overruled the Labor Department’s advisory.
I inquired as to why the White House had made the request in the first place. President Obama undoubtedly agrees with WARN Act’s purpose, Graham averred, “given that in 2007, he proposed extending the notification period from 60 days to 90 days, in order to ‘protect employees.’” So why the change? “Because he wants to avoid hundreds of thousands of layoff notices being delivered on the Friday before election day.”
“In my view,” Graham affirmed, “the Democrats don’t want to fix the sequestration crisis before the election. They want to use it as a bargaining chip against the Bush tax cuts. The White House hasn’t lifted a finger to solve sequestration. I’ve done all I can, but this should be a time for presidential leadership. The commander-in-chief has a moral responsibility greater than the Congress to the armed forces. This is a failure of moral leadership.”
In further violation of the law, the Obama administration has ignored Congress and ordered unused stimulus money to buy a “white-elephant Illinois prison” for federal purposes. Congress has previously refused to allow this to occur, but they are in recess until after the election, and Obama has gone over their heads. This prison was built years ago, but agitators in Illinois, like Obama as state senator, argued that they have too many people in prison. So they left it empty, even though Chicago has a huge murder rate. But gangsters can’t vote in prison, so they kept the prison empty. Now, the federal government, under Obama’s orders, has given Illinois back the money for the prison, and this is why. Obama is moving the terrorists at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba onto US soil, and they’ll be housed in Obama’s home state. At this point the administration is denying this, but that has been the plan all along and one of the main reasons that both parties of Congress have refused to allow him to buy the prison. Once reelected, the terrorists will be brought to the US where they will get additional rights that they don’t get at Guantanamo- meaning many will be released for simple technicalities like not having had their Miranda Rights read to them. If Obama’s not reelected, at least he’s thrown his state a bone by funneling federal dollars to it. Andrew McCarthy has a lot to say about this, including what the Republicans in Congress can do to stop this and hurt the administration for even trying to do this. But, as we all know, too many of the Republicans in congress are bunch of weak sisters who wouldn’t want to come off the campaign trail to take an emergency vote. But they should.
In a piece called “Buying Thompson is about Closing Gitmo, No Matter What They Say,” Andrew McCarthy has even more to say about this prison buy and its implications. He also links to a column he wrote this summer when talks about this prison were heating up again. This is a serious violation of the law and the checks and balances that our Founding Fathers created. Obama had already been sporting his imperialistic tendencies, and these recent moves are making it more and more clear. No Republican could ever get away with anything like this. Nor could a white Democrat. But since Obama’s black, he uses his little media servants to give him cover by calling anyone who questions his motives racist. That’s all they’ve got. You’re a racist. Watch us break the law. You’re a racist. What are you going to do about it? You’re a racist. The term “You’re a racist” is like kryptonite to the Republicans, but if they read the FDF blog more, they’d know their history and know that the Democrat Party is the party of slavery, segregation and the KKK- Not the Republican Party.
This is a photo of a campaign ad that was on Obama’ website before shame forced him to remove it. It’s a photo of a woman with the words: “Vote like your lady parts depend on it.” This probably has something to do with the supposed war on women that the Republicans have supposedly been waging. Personally though, I think the Republicans should turn it around on the President. Talk about how cozy Obama is with all the Muslim Radicals throughout the world and his constant preaching that we ugly Americans should respect the prophet of Islam, even though doing so would mean violating our own religions. Then I’d point out that these Muslim Radicals, which Obama respects and reveres, all have a habit of performing clitorectomies on their women. This involves removing the woman’s clitoris so that she does not feel pleasure during sex. If Obama’s efforts to appease the Muslims go much further, how long will it be before he’s asking women in America to undergo this barbaric surgery so that his Muslim Brotherhood friends will respect us more? Just a thought. Maybe “lady parts” actually do have something at stake in this election. Think on that lady sex pots. All those liberal guys you sleep with probably aren’t going to protect you much when the bearded guy with a turban and a set of unsterilized blood-covered lady-part clippers comes a callin’.

The Daily Caller released a video of Obama in 2007 speaking to black liberals, including his America-hating preacher whom he later threw under the bus. It can be seen at The Daily Caller here. John Nolte gives ten reasons this video matters. I especially liked number 7: “At the 19:20 mark we learn that the Christian Obama doesn’t know the Lord’s Prayer.” Of course the other reasons are news as well, but how many, who call themselves Christians, knew that they voted for a man who doesn’t know the Lord’s Prayer? That’s like serving garlic chicken to the nice liberal vampires who just bought the haunted house across the street.
Breitbart has the complete Univision Fast and Furious exposé of the Obama administration selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels only to see those guns be used in the murders of hundreds of Mexicans. Much of the liberal media are covering for Obama, but, since so many Mexican folks are getting killed by Obama’s guns, Latinos are up in arms- even the liberal ones that run Univision. Good on them.
This was a while back, but, as Obama was cussing Americans out at the UN for having the nerve to support free speech that might allow the creation of a film that criticizes the prophet of Islam, Iran was test firing missiles in preparation for taking out Israel once the nukes are cooked up. You know who told the Iranians to kill the Jews in Israel? I believe it was the prophet of Islam. Whose side are you on Obama?
Comrade Hillary Clinton was letting her socialist freak flag fly at the Clinton Global Initiative. She called for a global tax. She also said: “One of the issues I have been preaching about around the world is collecting taxes in an equitable manner, especially from the elites in every country. It is a fact that around the world the elites of every country are making money. There are rich people everywhere, and yet they do not contribute to the growth of their own countries.” That’s great. I love it when socialists think that no one is listening or that no one’s smart enough to understand what they just said. Of course rich people have nothing to do with growth in their countries. All growth comes from the unemployed living on the dole. I guess that would be your view if you defined growth as growth of government. But I think she neglects the most important fact that the rich pay most of the taxes so that those in need- who force the government to grow- have money coming at them from the government that is growing just to keep up with the demand for their social benefits.
Some liberals told military voters to submit their ballots a week after the deadline. Yet the liberals try to tell us Republicans are for voter suppression. They have been caught red-handed trying to disenfranchise military voters. Of course we all know that the majority of military voters are Republicans. Democrats want nothing to do with fighting for freedom because they’re too busy trying to destroy it.
