1) The Founding Fathers were generally religious, gun-toting small government fanatics who were so far to the Right that they’d make Ann Coulter look like Jimmy Carter.
2) The greatest evil this country has ever committed isn’t slavery; it’s killing more than 50 million innocent children via abortion.
3) Conservatives are much more compassionate than liberals and all you have to do to prove it is look at all the studiesshowing that conservatives give more of their money to charity than liberals do.
4) When the Founding Fathers were actually around, there were official state religions and the Bible was used as a textbook in schools. The so-called “wall of separation between church and state” has absolutely nothing to do with the Constitution and everything to do with liberal hostility to Christianity.
5) The biggest problem with our economy today is Barack Obama. His demonization of successful people, his driving up gas prices, his regulatory overload and threats to increase taxes have terrified businesses into hunkering down, refusing to spend money, and declining to hire new people. Replacing him would do more than any government policy to spur economic growth.
6) Not only are conservatives more patriotic than liberals, but most American liberals “love” America in about the same way that a wife-beater loves his wife.
7) Out of every 100 cries of “Racism” you hear these days, 99 are motivated by nothing other than politics.
Anyone paying income taxes is certainly paying his “fair share” — and then some — compared to the people who pay nothing.
10) If we can ask people to present an ID to buy alcohol, drive a car, or get on an airplane, then asking them to present identification to vote is a no-brainer.
11) There’s absolutely nothing that the government does smarter, better, or more efficiently than the private market with roughly equivalent resources.
12) The biggest problem with education in this country is liberals. They fight vouchers, oppose merit pay, refuse to get rid of terrible teachers, and bend over backwards to keep poor kids trapped in failing schools.
13) Fascism, socialism, and communism are all left-wing movements that have considerably more in common with modern liberalism than modern conservatism.
14) The Democratic Party was behind slavery, the KKK, and Jim Crow laws. It was also the party of Margaret Sanger, George Wallace, and Bull Connor. It has ALWAYS been a racist party. Even today, white liberals support Affirmative Action and racial set-asides because they still believe black Americans are too inferior to go up against whites on an even playing field.
15) A man with good morals who falls short and becomes a hypocrite is still a far better man than a liberal who can never be called a hypocrite because he has no morals at all.
16) The most dire threat to America’s future and prosperity in the last 150 years hasn’t been the Nazis, the Soviets, or Al-Qaeda;, it’s the spending and overreach of our own government.
17) Greed isn’t someone wanting to keep more of what he earns; it’s people demanding a greater share of money that someone else earns.
18) Most of the time in American politics, the liberal “victim” is really a bad guy who is absolutely delighted by the opportunity to pretend to be “offended.”
19) Jesus Christ was not a conservative, a liberal, or a politician. He was also not a capitalist or a socialist. Still, you can say this: Jesus drew sharp lines about what’s right and wrong, he wasn’t tolerant of what the Bible categorizes as sinful behavior, and there’s absolutely no question that he would adamantly oppose abortion and gay marriage.
20) When you demand that other people fund your sexual escapades by buying your contraception, your sex life becomes their business.
When one observes President Obama’s unwillingness to accommodate America’s four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Christian. But that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics, Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor. In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.
Listed below in chronological order are (1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military; (3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam’s activities and positions, including letting his Islamic advisors guide and influence his hostility toward people of Biblical faith.
1. Acts of hostility toward people of Biblical faith:
April 2008 – Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying they “cling to guns or religion” and have an “antipathy to people who aren’t like them.” 1
February 2009 – Obama announces plans to revoke conscience protection for health workers who refuse to participate in medical activities that go against their beliefs, and fully implements the plan in February 2011. 2
April 2009 – When speaking at Georgetown University, Obama orders that a monogram symbolizing Jesus’ name be covered when he is making his speech. 3
May 2009 – Obama declines to host services for the National Prayer Day (a day established by federal law) at the White House. 4
April 2009 – In a deliberate act of disrespect, Obama nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican; of course, the pro-life Vatican rejected all three. 5
October 19, 2010 – Obama begins deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions. 6
November 2010 – Obama misquotes the National Motto, saying it is “E pluribus unum” rather than “In God We Trust” as established by federal law. 7
January 2011 – After a federal law was passed to transfer a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert to private ownership, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that the cross in the memorial could continue to stand, but the Obama administration refused to allow the land to be transferred as required by law, and refused to allow the cross to be re-erected as ordered by the Court. 8
February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from Congress. 9
April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage of a non-discrimination law that does not contain hiring protections for religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus eliminating conscience protection in hiring. 10
August 2011 – The Obama administration releases its new health care rules that override religious conscience protections for medical workers in the areas of abortion and contraception. 11
November 2011 – Obama opposes inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial. 12
November 2011 – Unlike previous presidents, Obama studiously avoids any religious references in his Thanksgiving speech. 13
December 2011 – The Obama administration denigrates other countries’ religious beliefs as an obstacle to radical homosexual rights. 14
January 2012 – The Obama administration argues that the First Amendment provides no protection for churches and synagogues in hiring their pastors and rabbis. 15
February 2012 – The Obama administration forgives student loans in exchange for public service, but announces it will no longer forgive student loans if the public service is related to religion. 16
2. Acts of hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:
June 2011 – The Department of Veterans Affairs forbids references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at Houston National Cemetery. 17
August 2011 – The Air Force stops teaching the Just War theory to officers in California because the course is taught by chaplains and is based on a philosophy introduced by St. Augustine in the third century AD – a theory long taught by civilized nations across the world (except America). 18
September 2011 – Air Force Chief of Staff prohibits commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains. 19
September 2011 – The Army issues guidelines for Walter Reed Medical Center stipulating that “No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading materials and/or facts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.” 20
November 2011 – The Air Force Academy rescinds support for Operation Christmas Child, a program to send holiday gifts to impoverished children across the world, because the program is run by a Christian charity. 21
November 2011 – The Air Force Academy pays $80,000 to add a Stonehenge-like worship center for pagans, druids, witches and Wiccans. 22
February 2012 – The U. S. Military Academy at West Point disinvites three star Army general and decorated war hero Lieutenant General William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin (retired) from speaking at an event because he is an outspoken Christian. 23
February 2012 – The Air Force removes “God” from the patch of Rapid Capabilities Office (the word on the patch was in Latin: Dei). 24
February 2012 – The Army orders Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners that their archbishop asked them to read. 25
3. Acts of hostility toward Biblical values:
January 2009 – Obama lifts restrictions on U.S. government funding for groups that provide abortion services or counseling abroad, forcing taxpayers to fund pro-abortion groups that either promote or perform abortions in other nations. 26
January 2009 – President Obama’s nominee for deputy secretary of state asserts that American taxpayers are required to pay for abortions and that limits on abortion funding are unconstitutional. 27
March 2009 – The Obama administration shut out pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored health care summit. 28
March 2009 – Obama orders taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. 29
March 2009 – Obama gave $50 million for the UNFPA, the UN population agency that promotes abortion and works closely with Chinese population control officials who use forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations. 30
May 2009 – The White House budget eliminates all funding for abstinence-only education and replaces it with “comprehensive” sexual education, repeatedly proven to increase teen pregnancies and abortions. 31 He continues the deletion in subsequent budgets. 32
May 2009 – Obama officials assemble a terrorism dictionary calling pro-life advocates violent and charging that they use racism in their “criminal” activities. 33
July 2009 – The Obama administration illegally extends federal benefits to same-sex partners of Foreign Service and Executive Branch employees, in direction violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 34
September 16, 2009 – The Obama administration appoints as EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum, who asserts that society should “not tolerate” any “private beliefs,” including religious beliefs, if they may negatively affect homosexual “equality.” 35
July 2010 – The Obama administration uses federal funds in violation of federal law to get Kenya to change its constitution to include abortion. 36
August 2010 – The Obama administration Cuts funding for 176 abstinence education programs. 37
September 2010 – The Obama administration tells researchers to ignore a judge’s decision striking down federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. 38
February 2011 – Obama directs the Justice Department to stop defending the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 39
March 2011 – The Obama administration refuses to investigate videos showing Planned Parenthood helping alleged sex traffickers get abortions for victimized underage girls. 40
July 2011 – Obama allows homosexuals to serve openly in the military, reversing a policy originally instituted by George Washington in March 1778. 41
September 2011 – The Pentagon directs that military chaplains may perform same-sex marriages at military facilities in violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 42
October 2011 – The Obama administration eliminates federal grants to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for their extensive programs that aid victims of human trafficking because the Catholic Church is anti-abortion. 43
4. Acts of preferentialism for Islam:
May 2009 – While Obama does not host any National Day of Prayer event at the White House, he does host White House Iftar dinners in honor of Ramadan. 44
April 2010 – Christian leader Franklin Graham is disinvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer Event because of complaints from the Muslim community. 45
April 2010 – The Obama administration requires rewriting of government documents and a change in administration vocabulary to remove terms that are deemed offensive to Muslims, including jihad, jihadists, terrorists, radical Islamic, etc. 46
August 2010 – Obama speaks with great praise of Islam and condescendingly of Christianity. 47
August 2010 – Obama went to great lengths to speak out on multiple occasions on behalf of building an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero, while at the same time he was silent about a Christian church being denied permission to rebuild at that location. 48
2010 – While every White House traditionally issues hundreds of official proclamations and statements on numerous occasions, this White House avoids traditional Biblical holidays and events but regularly recognizes major Muslim holidays, as evidenced by its 2010 statements on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha. 49
October 2011 – Obama’s Muslim advisers block Middle Eastern Christians’ access to the White House. 50
February 2012 – The Obama administration makes effulgent apologies for Korans being burned by the U. S. military, 51 but when Bibles were burned by the military, numerous reasons were offered why it was the right thing to do. 52
Many of these actions are literally unprecedented – this is the first time they have happened in four centuries of American history. The hostility of President Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president.
All we ask for is our rights as parents to NOT be ignored and circumvented. We will “Fight for our right to PARENT“. A responsible sex education program should involved several elements and we recognize that starting with factual information and moral guidelines. While we believe it is a schools role to only focus on basic anatomy and the physical aspects of human sexuality as that is essential. We also know that’s only half of the issue, but the rest of the issue is up to us as parents to decide how and when it is appropriate for OUR Child and Our moral background. A Jew is not going to have the same values as a Christian. An Atheist is not going to see it the same as a Muslim or a Buddhist etc.. and in public schools we come from all backgrounds. It’s been said that sexual sophistication without sexual responsibility leads to disaster, a fact substantiated by the number of unwanted—often terminated—pregnancies in our nation each year. As parents strive to integrate and teach these factors in the home, it helps to encourage questions, communication, and reflection while exemplifying their own value system.

The Rochester City School District recently held a parent forum to continue the discussion about the controversial policy of distributing condoms to school kids. Several parents discuss their views about the forum and the pending policy.

Clive Wilson a professor of Psychology at Finger Lakes Community College and Sarah Lenhart, founder of Dream Again Ministries say the RCSD should abandon the idea
A former music teacher in Greece, convicted of having sexual contact with a student, is scheduled to be back in court today. Jeffrey Hoffman was sentenced in 2010 to two years in state prison and 10 years of supervision following his release. Wednesday’s hearing has to do with his requirement to register as a sex offender. Hoffman admitted to having sexual contact with a 14-year-old student. He taught music at Pine Brook and Craig Hill Elementary Schools and was also the director of the school district’s marching band.

Last week here on the NYC Parents Choice Blog, we discussed the evidence from program evaluation that shows that abstinence education works. This week I want to focus not on the evidence provided by evaluations of programs, but on the evidence provided by application of programs in the real world. Fortunately, we have a case study in the UK.
In the late 1990’s the Labour Government in the UK set itself the goal of halving the teen pregnancy rate by 2010. To this end, they instituted mandatory sex education in schools that focused on condom and contraception use, and also provided free contraception, abortion, and emergency contraception to kids without letting their parents know. This is exactly the philosophy that motivates Mayor Bloomberg’s sex ed mandate: more contraception will solve the problem. So if now, more than a decade after the UK implemented this policy, the Bloomberg administration is implementing it here in New York City, it must be because it was such a success in the UK, right?
Wrong. In fact, the pregnancy rate remains virtually unchanged in the UK, and has risen for teenagers under 16. Meanwhile, the abortion rate has increased, and the rates of sexually transmitted diseases have gone through the roof. And it only cost 300 million pounds (almost $473,000,000). One UK government official said in 2007, “What we actually need is for family-led organisations, and local communities and the voluntary sector to work together on these problems.” The Telegraph, in an August 2010 editorial, called the program “a sexual disaster for teenagers and society.” In that editorial the editors made this strong point: “Moreover, parents must be part of the process, not kept in ignorance: evidence from America shows that their involvement helps to reduce teenage pregnancy rates. This is because it is the family, above all, that is the key here.” Read more here, here and here.
Parents deserve the right to opt their children out of failed programs and into common sense alternatives that will help protect their children from disease. That’s what the NYC Parents’ Choice Coalition is all about.

Nazis, commies, and Occupiers – oh my!

In the last century, the United States of America sacrificed more than 400,000 of our young men fighting against Japan and the evil of Germany’s National Socialism. America lost another 100,000 or so stopping the encroachment of Sino-Soviet style socialism in both hot and cold wars.
There is not a single political philosophy responsible for more human carnage than socialism. Leftist ideologies, whether you call it fascism, socialism or communism, are directly responsible for the slaughter of millions in just a single century. Let’s look at the tally of deaths resulting from socialist revolutions.
Nazi Germany: 6 million Jews alone another 6 million Soviet POWs, Poles, Romani (Gypsies), Disabled, Slovenes, Homosexuals…
Soviet Union: Lenin-Stalin, 29 million.
China: Under Mao Zedong, 40 million
Cambodia: Pol Pot, 1.6 million
Those are just the big boys, that count doesn’t include Tito, Fidel Castro and Ernesto “Che” Guevara or any of the other tin pot socialist dictator’s atrocities. Good thing that a great deal of the “revolution” was indeed not televised.
The left, particularly in academia, has worked wonders in distancing themselves from the barbarism their ideology inevitably led and continues to lead to, especially fascism. Despite the overwhelming support German and Italian fascism received from Western leftist progressives like H.G. Wells, NAACP founder W.E.B. DuBois, George Bernard Shaw, Will Rogers and Rexford Guy Tugwell, to name a few, the left has managed to somehow repaint fascism as a right wing philosophy.
The leftist progressives fell all over themselves in praise for Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Ol’ Il Duce…until the slaughter began. W.E.B. DuBois declared that the National Socialist Party (Nazis) takeover of Germany was: “absolutely necessary to get the state in order.” Further Dubois wrote from Russia to the readers of his magazine ‘The Crisis”:
“I stand in astonishment and wonder at the revelation of Russia that has come to me. I may be partially deceived and half-informed. But if what I have seen with my eyes and heard with my ears in Russia is Bolshevism, I am a Bolshevik.”
As DuBois later condemned Nazism’s extremes and lamented the deaths caused by the revolutions he had praised earlier, it was clear that he was indeed both deceived and ill-informed.
After a visit to Italy, Will Rogers said of Mussolini: “I’m pretty high on that bird.”
How are erstwhile political dilettantes like Rogers and DuBois any different from their contemporary progeny? Doesn’t Sean Penn’s praise of Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez sound eerily similar to Will Roger’s praise of Il Duce? Is the solidarity shown by “progressives” like President Obama and Nancy Pelosi with the neo-pinko Occupy Wall Street throng any different than DuBois declaring himself a Bolshevik?
I would have to say that the biggest difference has to be that the modern day progressive has the luxury of hindsight. History is a very useful thing to have — unless, out of either ignorance or hubris, you ignore it. And that is what we are seeing today. Some are willingly ignorant, others are simply evil.
Well the modern day Nazis and Communists have thrown their collective lots in with the Occupy Wall Street protestors. The Nazis because just like the National Socialist movement of Nazi Germany included an anti-semitic element, the same element is also present in the Occupy protests. And you don’t see the anti-semites being universally denounced or made to feel unwelcome by their fellow protestors.
The neo-nazi groups are saying since there is already anti-Jewish literature and rhetoric being preached at these rallies, they should remove the more offensive symbolism of the Nazi movement and join the Wall Street protests with watered down versions of their more inflammatory fare. Apparently this was issued by a nazi group in Westland Michigan just in time for the Detroit Occupy protest.
If socialism is such a good idea, why does it inspire so much death and destruction? You can see the modern progressives twisting history to the applause of the again, unthinking, ill-informed herd in this video .
Liberals feverishly try to draw a moral equivalency between the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street crowd. But you don’t see the Nazis and the Commies issuing pleas for their followers to join the Tea Party. You can’t shout racist, anti-Semitic or anti-American rhetoric at a Tea Party gathering.
Those who do are on the other side of barricades conducting anti-Tea Party rallies. Despite liberal attempts to call the Tea Party racist, those are the facts.
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” I Corinthians 15:33
The Greek word translated into the phrase “evil communications” is “homilia,” “companionship,” i.e. (by implication) intercourse: — communication. This is from the Greek word “homilos” (meaning a crowd); association together, i.e. a multitude: — company.
In other words, associating with the wrong crowd corrupts (often making a person act counter to their character by being engulfed in reactionary herd thinking) the way others perceive you and whatever message you may be trying to convey. This simple Biblical tenet is often taught to children by good parents. Be careful of the people you hang around with, because bad behavior tends to rub off.
I have seen Christians promoting these Occupy Wall Street rallies. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Were we wrong to oppose the Nazis and the Communists for the better part of a century? Don’t you think it odd that Christians find themselves aligned with people holding anti-life political philosophies?
I am reminded of the words of my Lord in the Gospel of Matthew when His detractors tried to blame His actions on the devil:
“Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.” v25
How do we cure the ills of our nation by embracing and adopting the failed and murderous philosophies of our enemies? The answer is simple: You can’t. Socialism has wrought only misery whenever and wherever it has been tried. Without regard to nomenclature, make no mistake that is what hides behind these protests. Christ continued in verse 26:
“And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?”
If you are a Christian at an occupy protest and socialists are all around you, ask yourself why the teachings of Christ are done away with in socialist nations? If capitalism is evil, why does Christ teach the principals undergirding capitalism over and over again in Scripture, likening them to His kingdom? Read Luke 19:11-27 or the parable of the “talents” Matthew 25:14-30. Or the “laborers in the vineyard” were Jesus Christ begins:
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. Matthew 20:1
You could just as easily change the word householder to capitalist or businessman: For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a capitalist… As with all things of importance taught by Christ — there is both a practical and a spiritual application. The practical in this verse is that God describes His kingdom as one which rewards industry. That’s how America used to be and should always be — a country that rewards the industrious.
I made this statement on my Facebook fan page and on Freedom Torch: “America doesn’t need revolution, just a truly well informed electorate not blinded by misleading rhetoric. In the United States change comes with a vote not rioting.” You do not get socialist revolutions, like the ones being called for by far too many of the Occupy Wall Street crowd without blood.
For the Christians yoking yourselves to these “Occupy” people I ask you to remember:
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” II Corinthians 13:5
If you believe our system is wrong, do you really think standing with Nazis, Communists and people fornicating in the streets — defecating on police cars and all sorts of reprobate behavior is the right way to go?
If our system is evil, how does Satan cast out Satan? Again; “Bad company ruins good morals.”
I’ve been spending as much time as I can down at Occupy Wall Street, listening to the speeches, reading the literature, talking to the organizers. Here’s something to keep in mind: You’ll hear in a lot of the conservative media that this is some kind of socialist/communist enterprise piggybacking on a populist protest. In reality, it is much worse than even most of the conservative media is reporting.
Almost every organization present at OWS is explicitly communist or socialist. Almost every piece of literature being handed out is explicitly communist or socialist. I don’t mean half, and I don’t mean the overwhelming majority — I mean almost all of it. Yes, there are the usual union goons trying to figure out how to get OWS to do the bidding of the AFL-CIO and the Democratic party, and the usual smattering of New Age goo (the “Free Empathy” table) and po-mo Left wackiness (animal-rights nuts), the inevitable Let’s-Eradicate-Israel crowd (“Free Palestine, from the river to the sea!”). But, that being said, almost every organized enterprise and piece of printed material I have encountered has been socialist or communist. It’s been a long time since I saw anybody peddling books by Lenin. It’s been a long time since anybody told me the Ukrainians had it coming.
When the protesters were rallying to march to Times Square, out went the call: “Follow the red flag!” Which is what they did, literally and, I fear, figuratively.
Interesting, then, that Barack Obama has decided to lend some presidential legitimacy to the proceedings. OWS isn’t a socialist revolution — I’d be surprised if it ever escalated past the vandalism stage — but it imagines itself to be, and Barack Obama suggests that he is in sympathy with it. This reminds me of something . . . a particular image . . .
Speaking of vandalism, I witnessed a bit of it on Saturday, when a protester denied the use of the facilities at a local pizza shop began tearing up merchandise and throwing it in the garbage. The owner caught the vandal outside and put him in a bear-hug, yelling for somebody to call the police. The police eventually showed up and, of course, did something close to nothing. A few union goons loitering outside the pizza shop began to taunt the owner: “You feel better now? You got that out of your system?” The shop owner was an immigrant, who probably came to this country under the mistaken notion that the police would be here to protect his property and that random acts of destruction would be at least frowned upon by his fellow citizens.
